Between Presence and Personality

Some portraits go beyond the surface. They reveal something about who a person is, not just what they look like.

For this series, I photographed Winke Koppenol, a teacher and mentor who focuses not only on sharing knowledge, but on truly connecting with people. With her open attitude, curiosity, and sense of empathy, she creates an environment where others quickly feel at ease.

During the shoot, the goal was to make those qualities visible. No forced poses, but a sense of calm, approachability, and trust reflecting the way she works.

The result is a portrait that captures more than a moment; it reveals something of the person behind it.
