How Media Design Shapes My Photography

Alongside my work in photography, I’m currently pursuing a full-time degree in Media Design. What draws me to this field is its versatility. From graphic design and web design to video and concept development, everything comes down to the same core: translating ideas into visuals.

I naturally bring this broader perspective into my work as a photographer. I don’t just focus on how an image looks, but also on how it will be used. Where will it be placed? What should it communicate? And how does it fit within a larger visual identity?

Especially in corporate photography, branding and more goal-driven projects, I like to think along. Not just about the image itself, but about its application. For example, considering composition with space for text, or creating visuals that work within a website or campaign.

For me, photography doesn’t stop at capturing an image. It’s about the bigger picture. My background in media design helps me look beyond the photo and contribute to a cohesive and effective visual result.
